Lamellae The gills are close, cream coloured, sometimes gray reddish, and blackish brown when old. .

Stipe The white stem is 1020 cm long, quite equal but sometimes enlarged at base. It has a big, thin, white skirt-like ring.

Odour and taste Smells and tastes like almond.

Habitat The Prince is found in forests and parks, most commonly under big old fir trees. Do not pick them near traffic as they gather up poisonous heavy metals.

NB. Unfortunately this very delicious mushroom is not very common in Finland nor in Sweden.
